"Oh thank you. Now tell me what was so important that you wanted me to come here before I picked Zoey up from school?"
Quincy ran his finger along Sky's slender arm. "You know how much I love you, right?"
She nodded with a smile as she wiggled her fingers to flash her diamond engagement ring.
"Good, I equally love Zoey just as much. But, I've got to tell you. I'm not ready to be a father at all."
"Why would you ask me to marry you if you weren't ready to take on the responsibilities of being a father?"
"Calm down Sweetheart." He held her hand. "I have a solution that would benefit us all."
Sky sipped her coffee. "What could that possibly Quincy?"
"I found an amazing boarding school in California. Don't worry about the cost. You know money isn't a problem for me."
"How long have you known you've wanted to send my baby away?"
"You've got it all wrong. When I proposed I thought I would be ready for all of this by the time our wedding came around. But, I'm not ready."
"Quincy, our wedding is two months away and you thought this would be the appropriate time to tell me that you don't want to be a father to my child." She pushed the cup away. The dark coffee spilled on the table. "When Zoey's dad died it took a long time to get her to feel secure again. Her moving away from me would be detrimental."
"You're exaggerating. I'm sure she will be fine."
"I was waiting for you to do this. I'm not sending my daughter anywhere. Those schools screw kids up more than helping them and some even turn up dead. It's not happening."
"Bad things could happen to her just as easily if she stays with you. The point is, I'm not ready to be a father. So, you need to make a decision. If you want Zoey to stay I'll take my millions and walk."
"Then walk. But, as far as your millions, we'll be sharing that."
"What in the hell are you talking about We aren't married and even if we were, you signed a prenup. The only thing you'll take is what you brought to the table."
Sky giggled, "To be so smart you're dumb as hell Quincy. You have done everything possible to protect your money, except wear a condom. So, whether you like it or not, you're going to be a father and we will be sharing the wealth Mr. Millionaire."
"Get rid of it!"
"I don't take orders. Enjoy your coffee."
Quincy leaped from his chair and grabbed Sky's arm. "I wouldn't play this game if I were you. The last woman who tried to it ended up begging for her life, rather than my money."
"Is that a fact?"
"You'll find out if you don't get rid of that baby."
"I'm not as easy to scare as the other women you've encountered. So, now we play my way. I'll let you continue to enjoy your freedom as long as you pay, or I take the recording of this lovely conversation to the police of you admitting to your part in your missing ex-wife's case."
"You Bitch! Give me your phone!"
"Here, take it. I'm not that stupid. The recording isn't here with me. I have someone who'll keep it safe and sound."
"How long have you been planning this?"
"Ah, I love it when the tables turn. It's not so fun being on the other side."
"I asked you a question."
Sky stood with her purse clutched in her hand. "The day you introduced yourself to me, I had your millions. As a matter of fact, I think I want you to start paying today."
"You're going to regret the day you ever thought you could do this to me!"
"Now, now Quincy. You wouldn't want to make a scene in front of all these people. You can't afford to have the police meddling around in your life when you've already pissed them off on so many occasions with women. My well-being is in your best interest. Don't bother looking for me, I'm leaving. But, I'll be in touch," Sky cackled as she disappeared from the busy coffee shop.
